Volunteers are the heart of our shelter offering not only care, but kindness to animals in need. We host several volunteer training classes monthly and welcome volunteers with all levels of experience.

We know that life doesn’t always go as planned, and we’re here to help. Our community programs are designed to keep animals in loving homes and support owners who may be struggling. Through low-cost spay and neuter assistance, our pet food pantry, Trap-Neuter-Return for community cats, and Operation Uplift, we’re helping pets stay safe, healthy, and home.

Our work goes far beyond the shelter walls. JACC’s Animal Services team responds to hundreds of calls each month, from reports of stray or aggressive animals to neglect and cruelty investigations. Our officers enforce local ordinances and state laws while focusing on education and intervention when possible.

They’re also who you’ll call if you’ve lost or found a pet, need to report an issue, or have concerns about an animal’s well-being. They’re the first step in protecting animals and keeping neighborhoods safe.
